ABOUT

Sanyu Srikanth is a South Indian SAG-AFTRA Eligible actress with over a decade of experience across film and theatre, with credits spanning more than 20 films and 15 stage productions. Based in New York City and Washington, D.C., she is drawn to emotionally grounded and character-driven stories that feel rooted in real life, especially in roles where vulnerability, humor, and intensity can all exist in the same person. She is often cast in characters that blend awkward and comedic instincts with emotional complexity and brings strong physical awareness to her work that supports roles requiring movement, transformation, and action.


She is represented by Brilliant Talent Management and holds a B.F.A. in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy, where she was named to the Dean’s List every semester and selected as the commencement speaker at her graduation ceremony. Her training includes on-camera and theatrical work, with a focus on Shakespeare, voiceover, improvisation, audition technique, and stage combat. She also completed the Advanced On-Camera Technique Workshop at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting with casting director Todd Thaler.

Her credits include MY MUSEUM (2027), ACCENT (2026), FOR HIM (2025), BEAN DIP (2025), MURDERS IN THE HEIR (2024), and BACHELORETTE (2023), along with additional work across film and theatre.


In addition to acting, she created the film FOR HIM (2025), serving as writer and editor and leading the project from concept to completion.


With a background in Classical Indian dance and singing, she brings discipline, precision, and presence to her performances. As a first-generation South Indian artist, she is committed to telling grounded, honest stories and bringing complex characters to life. She continues to work primarily as an actor across film and theatre while also pursuing select creative projects in writing and filmmaking.

EARLY LIFE AND ARTISTIC ROOTS

Her love for storytelling began at age 10, evolving from homemade videos into a lifelong passion for storytelling. She made her first stage appearance in WILEY AND THE HAIRY MAN and continued performing throughout high school in productions such as LOVE/SICK and GROUP THERAPY, earning induction into the International Thespian Society.


She also performed in COMMONWEALTH VS. DIAMOND inside the Fairfax County Courthouse.


From 2007 to 2013, she trained in Classical Indian dance and singing, earning awards in both solo and group performances. During this time, she frequently served as an anchor for live cultural events hosted by Anu Arts Academy, gaining recognition for her confidence and stage presence.

ORIGINAL WORK

Sanyu’s passion for storytelling also extends into creating original work for the screen. Sanyu created the film FOR HIM (2025) and is currently developing additional original projects, WHEN SPARK MEETS STILLNESS (2025) and MY MUSEUM (2027), exploring emotional truth, identity, and human connection. 


Through these projects, she continues to expand her voice as a filmmaker and storyteller, creating narratives that reflect the complexity of being human.

WORK BEHIND THE CAMERA

Her experience extends into writing, production, and visual storytelling. Sanyu has pursued writing and script development, earning several awards including the Peace Essay Award and the For Love of Country Foundation Award


She has worked as dramaturg on CRAVE (2025), and contributed to the feature film FEDORA RON (2026) in multiple roles including sound, marketing, and 2nd AC. 


She has also worked across stage management and technical production, including stage managing IT’S NOT YOU, GOING TO SCHOOL, and CUT at Chantilly High School, supporting the props team for MAMMA MIA, and assisting technical teams for LEGALLY BLONDE and WILEY AND THE HAIRY MAN.


Photography is another area of focus, centered on architectural imagery, behind-the-scenes film photography, and visual storytelling.

BEYOND ACTING

Alongside her screen and stage work, Sanyu shares her creative journey online with over 11,000 followers, focused on acting, filmmaking, and fitness.


She brings strong physical discipline and control into her creative work, supporting performances that require movement-based storytelling, physical transformation, and on-camera adaptability.


As a first-generation South Indian artist, she is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and telling stories that reflect complex human experiences.
